The Globalopen Relief 35cm Extra-Large Physical Globe is the most physically detailed globe in the Globalopen standard range — a 35-centimeter raised terrain globe that applies Globalopen’s thermoform topographic process to the largest standard sphere size, producing the maximum combination of physical scale and tactile terrain detail available in the non-custom Globalopen range. At 35 centimeters, the sphere circumference is 1100 millimeters — sufficient to render mountain ranges at a tactile height and horizontal extent that is clearly perceptible by touch as well as sight, and sufficient to carry the physical geography labeling density that places this globe at the standard of a professional geographic reference tool for library, educational institution, and museum installation. The raised terrain covers both land and ocean surfaces: continental mountain ranges are raised above the sphere surface, and ocean basins are recessed below the sphere surface — providing the full three-dimensional bathytopographic character of the Earth’s surface. The hypsometric color gradient covers twelve elevation zones from deep ocean trench to high mountain summit, with contour lines at 500-meter intervals providing the specific depth and height information that the color zones communicate in broad terms. Over 120 named geographic features are labeled on the globe surface — the most extensive geographic labeling of any globe in the Globalopen standard range. The weighted floor stand is a four-leg design in dark walnut-finish timber, stabilized by a cross-bar connecting the legs at mid-height, and sized to display the 35cm globe at standing-adult eye level.
