The Globalopen Heritage 30cm Antique Globe with Bookend Stand is a decorative globe and stand combination designed for integration into a bookshelf or library context — the bookend-format stand positions the globe between two vertical post supports that visually echo the form of bookends, creating a seamless visual connection between the globe and the surrounding book collection. The stand is constructed from solid MDF with a dark walnut veneer finish, formed into two 180mm high vertical posts connected at the base by a horizontal bar, with the globe mounted on a short pedestal rising from the center of the base bar. The horizontal bar base is 300mm long and 80mm deep, providing a stable footing that can be placed on a bookshelf between volumes or on a desk as a freestanding display. The antique parchment globe — Globalopen’s standard aged cartographic style in the 30cm format — sits in a fixed mounting position between the posts, allowing rotation on its polar axis but without the full meridian ring that covers the globe surface in the standard globe-and-stand format, giving an unobstructed view of the full sphere from front and both sides. Aged leather detail panels are applied to the inner faces of the vertical posts, providing a tactile material element that connects the stand to the traditional library environment. All hardware — the polar cap pins, the base rail join, and the decorative finials on the post tops — is antique brass finish.
