The Globalopen Academy 30cm Dual-Map Globe is an innovative educational tool that provides two distinct map modes in a single globe — a political map showing country borders and names, and a physical relief map showing terrain elevation and ocean depth — switchable by a touch of the illumination control on the base. The dual-map function is achieved through Globalopen’s layered print technology: the globe shell carries both the political color map and the physical hypsometric map printed on two transparent layers over the white diffusion layer. When the LED is set to warm white (2700K), the political map reads most clearly. When the LED is set to cool white (5500K), the physical terrain map reads through the political layer, revealing mountain ranges, ocean basins, and elevation contours. The touch-sensitive base switch cycles through warm political mode, cool physical mode, and off in a three-stage press sequence. The globe provides two distinct educational content streams accessible on the same object without purchasing or storing two separate globes — an economy of space and cost particularly relevant for classroom installations where storage is limited. The cartographic content meets Globalopen’s standard for educational accuracy: 2024 political boundaries, physical terrain at the highest detail achievable at 30cm scale, and dual English and Vietnamese labeling. The full aluminum meridian ring is graduated for latitude and longitude measurement exercises. The base is weighted die-cast zinc in a satin chrome finish.
