The Globalopen Junior 20cm Children’s World Globe is designed from the ground up for children aged 4 and above — a globe that introduces world geography through visual storytelling, bold and friendly cartography, and a durable physical construction that withstands the handling that children’s educational objects naturally encounter. The 20-centimeter sphere is printed with Globalopen’s children’s cartographic style — a colorful political map that uses broad, clearly distinct country colors and large, readable typography sized for early-reader literacy levels. Each continent carries illustrated artwork icons: a bald eagle over North America, a jaguar in South America, an elephant in Africa, a polar bear in the Arctic, a panda in Asia, a kangaroo in Australia, and a penguin in Antarctica — providing visual geographic anchors that children connect to the physical locations they learn about in books, films, and classroom content. Major world landmarks are marked with simple pictogram icons: the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall, the Pyramids of Giza, the Statue of Liberty, and others. Ocean surfaces carry illustrated marine life. The ABS shell is manufactured to a wall thickness 20 percent greater than Globalopen’s standard adult globes, providing the additional impact resistance appropriate for a product that may be dropped, dropped again, and dropped once more in the course of a child’s enthusiasm. All surface printing is covered with a scratch-resistant UV lacquer. The base is a one-piece moulded plastic design with no small separable components. The globe does not illuminate and requires no batteries. Suitable for ages 4 and above. Wipe-clean surface.
