Globalopen Scout 25cm Topographic Globe

The Globalopen Scout 25cm Topographic Globe is a physical geography globe that combines tactile raised terrain with detailed topographic contour line printing — providing both the visual and tactile educational tools for understanding Earth’s three-dimensional surface in a single 25-centimeter globe format. The raised terrain is produced using Globalopen’s thermoform process — the sphere shell is vacuum-formed over a precision topographic mould, producing elevated mountain ranges, depressed ocean basins, and intermediate terrain relief at the 25cm scale. Printed over the raised terrain surface is a set of contour lines at 500-meter elevation intervals on land and 500-meter depth intervals below sea level — the standard topographic contour representation used on the large-scale topographic maps that hikers, geographers, and military planners use. The color scheme combines an elevation hypsometric gradient with the contour line overlay: elevation zones from below sea level through coastal lowland, mid-elevation, highland, and mountain summit are each in distinct color bands, with the contour lines printed in a darker shade of each band’s color. Named elevation features are labeled at the globe scale: Everest, K2, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, and Mont Blanc on land; the Mariana Trench, Puerto Rico Trench, and Tonga Trench below sea level. A compass rose is positioned in the South Pacific Ocean. The aluminum meridian ring is graduated at 10-degree intervals for geographic coordinate exercises.
